Saturday Feb/9/2013 started off like any regular day of my
internship, I arrived to the YMCA about 8a.m. I noticed the event they had the
day before was not broke down properly there was bleachers, basketball, and
other equipment still laying around. After about thirty minutes of getting
things organized on someone else's part, I started getting organized for soon to
come cocker league that was scheduled to start in about twenty minutes. So I
hurried and got the goal post out set those up on each side of the courts, set
the bleacher's up for spectators. I also set up the scoreboard made sure that
was properly working. After that was organized I had one more duty of recording
the stat book from each team. this weekend there was a 9a.m.-1a.m. games
scheduled. This weekend was another successful weekend of games and competition.

Another weekend filled with league play which was men's basketball. On this Sunday afternoon I was in charge of preparing the gym for the games that were scheduled for that day. A total of 3 games were played on this day, I also kept score other duties from this day were stats in the box scores. Relaying foul troubles to each coach.  After the competitive games were over I broke everything down, also keeping track of the winners and losers because when tournament time comes it will be very important. After every game I was to report my analysis back to Eric Slosser the Program Director who was over seeing my internship.

On this Saturday was unlike any other Saturday because the YMCA was holding not only indoor soccer. But after soccer was over at 2p.m. the local kids basketball league had games until 6p.m. on this day. After soccer was over I had to transition from soccer to basketball with only thirty minutes before the kids and parents showed up. I removed the soccer goals, positioned the benches for each team and also the seats for spectators. My duties for the basketball games was to get each numbers and names from their coaches into stat books. Also had to work closely with the referee. Soccer scoreboard is very different them basketball you have to pay close attention to the refs, communicate with the coaches on the fouls each player has so their players will not be in foul trouble. Men's basketball night took place this league is like no other league because of its competition level, every team here is trying to win. So when its my night to work this event I have to be on my tip toes due to the amount of importance. This night consisted of me keeping score and also the stat book. I also was in charge of setting up the event then break down of the event. There was only 3 games this night so everything went smoothly but on other nights you never know what to expect. (3hrs)

On this weekend I arrived at the YMCA about 8a.m. in the morning, the first couple of weekends Eric Slosser the Program Director overseeing my internship walked me through everything that I would be working to get the experience in the Sports Management field. When I arrived my first duty was to transition from any activity prior that was going on the day before. The equipment room was were the goals for the soccer league was located. I carried each post out set up score board table up make sure the score board was functioning correctly. I was given a packet on who was supposed to play who. Every Saturday 4 games would be played. 9a.m. was my first game, last game would begin at 1p.m. After the games would be played I also had the duty of knowing the score from each game winners and losers each week. (5hrs)
On Sunday 1/27/2013 basketball mens league had 3 games that I fortunetly worked. I also had the duty of preparing for this league before players arrived I kept score and stats, after all games where finished I was in charge of breakdown. (3hrs)

On January 19, 2013 the first day of my internship, Eric Slosser the Program Director supervised my internship sat and talked briefly on what exactly I would be doing for 14 weeks basically was the indoor winter season sports. The indoor programs that were going to start up consisted of indoor mens league soccer which Eric basically let me take control and manage for about 12 weeks. Every Saturday morning my day started early about 8:30 I was to report to the YMCA and set up goal post make sure the playing area was transitioned from any prior sports that was played. I also kept scoreboards, stat sheets, inforced the league rules. On Sundays I usually worked mens basketball and this by far probably was the most difficult program to deal with because it was so competitive. I also got to work volleyball league which consisted of both men and women.
Total of (8hrs) worked on this weekend.

On Saturday February/23/2013 was a very exciting Saturday, I arrived around the same time I always do that's about 8a.m. This day marks the day when the leagues 2 best team will play each other so Eric and I expected a crowd. This game was going to be fierce, so I set up more bleachers around the indoor soccer area that was being used. The stat book was ready, scoreboard was also working just fine. The games that were to be played on this day were from 9a.m. to 1p.m. but the game that was the most intriguing was the game at 10a.m. The 2 teams that were going head to head were former alumni's from Tiffin University soccer and Heidleberg University. I was informed this is who played in the championship last year so there would be bad blood. I was ready to enforce the rules if anything got out of hand. But to my surprise everything went smoothly. Great Soccer was played that day it got very competitive during this game. Dragons end up winning this game close the whole game. But after the todays game I had had to transition into basket because they would be starting around 4p.m. (5hrs)

Sunday Feb/24/2013 Men's basketball was scheduled to play like any other Sunday I prepared about a hour prior. I swept the floor because a lot of the men were sliding in last week games. After sweeping I set up chairs for home and away teams. Bleachers were set up for the fans, stats book was prepared by me because by know I know exactly who is playing and what players play for what team because of prior games. (3hrs)
